Rebuilding thadir.net (properly, this time)

Six years ago I wrote a post here about finally killing my old WordPress site, promising I’d actually write something. I didn’t. What was left behind was a bare HTMLy install I never touched again. So that post, and the site under it, are gone now. For real this time.

I rebuilt the whole thing as a static site. Content is just Markdown files instead of a database, and it builds down to plain HTML/CSS/JS I can push up wherever. No CMS to keep patched, no admin panel to log into.

Full disclosure: I’m not a frontend guy. The design, the layout, the little animations — I leaned on AI for a lot of that, because left to my own devices this would still be black text on a white background with maybe a <hr> if I was feeling fancy. Turns out that’s a genuinely good use of the thing.

There’s a real profile page now instead of a placeholder bio, and this blog actually works properly — writing a post is just adding a Markdown file, nothing to click through.

No promises I’ll keep writing here. But at least now I don’t have an excuse.
